What are your submission guidelines for Greeting Cards and Note Cards

What are our needs?
Our greeting card line consists of more than 2,500 greeting cards for everyday and seasonal occasions, as well as boxed blank notes and thank you notes. We are always looking for great talent, ideas, and concepts, especially of a humorous nature, for our greeting cards. Greeting cards and note cards feature photography, illustrations, composite images, typographical designs and various
other types of artwork. Our greeting card line covers all the major everyday card sending occasions, as well as seasonal occasions including cards for Fall, Christmas, Valentine, and Spring seasonal holidays.

Our note cards are boxed series of 2 and 4 designs each that are unified by a look or theme, as well as single designs for boxed thank you notes. If you have some professional quality work that you would like to submit for our consideration, we would be happy to review your submission.

What is the best format for a submission?
Low resolution digital files are preferred, however color printouts or photographic prints are also acceptable. No originals, please. Please limit your submission to no more than 20 images. We will request a larger selection if necessary. We prefer humor submissions to be sent as a complete concept with copy and illustration or photo. If you have a website that you would like us to visit, please provide us with that information, too. Please do not send your submission on a CD or DVD.

What should be sent with a submission?
Please be sure to include information about the best way to contact you, such as your e-mail address. It’s also helpful to know if the samples you send are available for publication and if your work has ever been published before. If you mail a submission and would like it to be returned, please include a self-addressed, stamped envelope or a means by which we can easily get the material back to you. It can take up to several months or more before we respond, so please be patient.

What are our terms?
Our terms and fees vary depending on the project and will be discussed upon acceptance of images for a project.

Is there a deadline?
We review submissions throughout the year, as we typically publish new everyday greeting cards quarterly. Product development for Valentine and Spring Seasonal cards generally occurs from March through May, so the best times to send a submission for those occasions is early February and March. Fall and Christmas card product development occurs in the early Fall, and we generally review material for those holidays in August and September.

What are your submission guidelines for Greeting Card verses

What are our needs, specifically for greeting card verses?
Our product line consists of more than 2,500 greeting cards for everyday and seasonal occasions, as well as boxed note cards and thank you notes. We are always looking for great concepts, creative writing, and unique verses or messages for our greeting cards. Our greeting card line covers all the major everyday card sending occasions, as well as seasonal occasions including cards for Fall, Christmas, Valentine, and Spring seasonal holidays.

If you have some professional quality work that you would like to submit for our consideration, we would be happy to review your submission. Before submitting your work to us, we suggest you review the cards on our website to see the types of cards we publish, keeping in mind that we’re looking for new or innovative messages and ways of expressing sentiments.

The types of verses we are most interested in are ones that are written in a contemporary style, with wording that is not too formal or over-used. We prefer messages that sound authentic and original; sincere but not overly sentimental. The verses do not necessarily have to be long and we don’t tend to use rhymed poetry or religious verses, unless we make a specific request for that type of material.

What is the best format for a submission?
E-mail submissions are preferred and you can send as many verses or samples of your writing in one email as you wish. Please type or paste the text or samples into the body of the e-mail or alternately attach a word document with your name at the head of every page.

What should be sent with a submission and when do we reply?
Please be sure to include information on the best way to contact you. It’s also helpful to know if the samples you send are available for publication and if your work has ever been published before. It can take several months or more before we respond so please be patient, however, if you do not hear from us within 4 months, you can assume that your work is no longer under consideration.

What are our terms?
Our terms and fees vary depending on the project and will be discussed upon acceptance of verse copy for a project. We usually pay a flat fee per verse used, include a verse credit on the printed card, and provide complimentary card samples.

Is there a deadline?
We review submissions throughout the year, as we typically publish new everyday greeting cards quarterly. The product development for seasonal cards typically occurs 1 year prior to the holiday. If we invite you to submit verses on spec for a specific project or for images we provide, we will set a deadline for the submissions.
